Artisans in the Square

Artisans in the Square is a working artisans’ cooperative location in Hingham Square. Come in to meet the local artists and artisans who staff this shop. New work is featured daily and custom orders welcomed.

We have consigned work from different local Artisans. The artists specialize in wood turning, guitar building and restoration, quilts, paintings, candles, glass, soap, lotions, and weaved arts. Each person Loves what they make, and are truly gifted artisans. We are excited to be open, and are looking forward to sharing our expressions with the world!
Friends of the Old Ship Meeting House

Built in 1681, Old Ship Meeting House is the only 17th century Puritan Meeting House still existing in the U.S., and the oldest building in continuous use as a church (Unitarian Universalist). A National Historic Landmark, it is open to the public for tours, cultural events and family celebrations.

Hingham Cemetery is an active cemetery and beautiful arboretum with many lots still available. The Ames Chapel, a fully restored Queen Anne-style building, is available at modest cost to local groups for functions, meetings, receptions and performances. Please see our website for more information about this historic cemetery, circa 1672.

Programs and classes also run outside of office hours.
The Hingham Community Center (HCC) is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides a varied selection of programs, classes, activities, and community events to the entire South Shore community. The HCC also provides various different rental spaces suitable for private events – Dance Studio, Boardroom, Art Room, Reception Room, Ballroom and an outside Courtyard.

The Hingham Historical Society, founded in 1914, is a member-supported non-profit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, exhibiting, and interpreting the history of the town of Hingham, Massachusetts. We offer educational programs, exhibits, and year-round activities for families, students, and all those who seek to gain a deeper appreciation of our community’s and our nation’s history.
Our Properties in historic downtown Hingham include the Hingham Heritage Museum, The Old Ordinary, and The Benjamin Lincoln House.

The Hingham Unity Council seeks to promote in-person dialogue about systemic issues that affect human dignity with a goal of fostering a more inclusive community. We seek to bridge differences in experience and perspectives to build a culture that respects and values the dignity and humanity of every community member.
