The Hingham Journal, which dates back to 1827, continues to report on Hingham government, schools, sports politics & the community. We have been in the historic Hingham Journal Building since 1899 when then publisher Fred H. Miller moved his expanding newspaper business into its new building here at 73 South St., at that time your hometown newspaper had already existed for nearly 72 years. When the Journal went to press here in those days the building visibly shook from the two-and-a half-ton 1892-model Hoe hand-fed drum cylindrical press. Its roar could be heard across the street.
