  1. Take the MBTA Greenbush Line to the stop WEST HINGHAM
  2. From train station, take a right and walk towards South Street
  3.  At railroad crossing at the intersection of West Street and South Street use crosswalk to cross street and access sidewalk
  4. Walk for approximately 0.6 miles on South Street (all sidewalk accessible) to enter Hingham Business District

The Hingham Downtown is approximately 2.6 miles from the Hingham Shipyard

  1. Take MBTA Hingham / Hull from Rowes and Long Wharf to stop HINGHAM. View the Hingham/Hull ferry schedule here.
  2. Off of ferry boat, follow long ramp to Hingham Shipyard

Take MBTA 220 BUS

  1. Off of ferry boat, take the ramp off the dock. You will be in Hingham Shipyard (not Hingham Downtown)
  2. Bus stop is at 28 Shipyard Drive (right outside the ferry terminal)

Walking

Route 3A is a two-lane highway so we are recommending using a slightly less direct, quieter route with sidewalks to walk to downtown.  This walk is approximately 45 minutes.

  1. Off of the ferry, take the ramp off the dock. You will be in the Hingham Shipyard (not Hingham Downtown)
  2. Take a right after exiting ferry on to Shipyard Drive and follow sidewalk through shipyard development (you will pass Alma Nove restaurant on your right) until you reach Routh 3A / Lincoln Street
  3. There will be a traffic light at the intersection of Route 3A/Lincoln Street and Hingham Shipyard
  4. Use Crosswalk to cross 3A and take Sgt. William B Terry Drive for approximately .1 mile. (1 block).
  5. Take LEFT on to Beal Street and follow for approximately 1.4 miles
  6. At next light you will see WEST HINGHAM train stop off to the right.
  7. At railroad crossing at the intersection of West Street and South Street use crosswalk to cross street and access sidewalk
  8. Walk for approximately 0.6 miles on South Street (all sidewalk accessible) to enter Hingham Business District

From North:

  1. Take I-93 South to MA 3- South
  2. Get off at Exit 35
  3. Take 228 North for approximately 5 miles
  4. Take a left on Main Street at Dependable Cleaners (start of Business District)

From South:

  1. MA 3 – North
  2. Exit 35
  3. 228 North for approximately 5 miles
  4. Left on Main Street at Dependable Cleaners (start of Business District)

Free Parking options include:

Free 2 hour street parking available in downtown areas on Main Street, North Street, and South Street in Business District

Station Street Parking Lot:  GPS address :62 Water Street Hingham

Merchants Lot:  GPS address: 25 Main Street Hingham.  Access parking lot from the driveway between Hingham Institution for Savings and Whitney Gordon Jewelers. 

Bathing Beach Parking Lot:  GPS address: 95 Otis Street Hingham MA. To enter Hingham business district, walk along beach / sidewalk toward Red Eye Roasters (3 Otis Street) to light, cross 3A using crosswalk (Stars restaurant will be across the street).
